Transfer 10 Week 3

Hello all you Lovely People!

This week was grand! I don't have a lot of time so I will tell you only the super important stuff.
At district meeting we were given nose flutes.

It has rained a ton! Awesome answer to fasting and prayer!
As we were teaching tithing to a man, I was able to receive answers to my questions as we taught. The spirit was so strong, it was incredible.

We found a new person to teach and it was really neat because we talked to her a couple months ago and she was not interested and some Elders gave us a referral to go see her and she was interested and excited to have us come back! And she remembered us! Cool.

I love you All.

Transfer 10 Week 2

Dear You,

I am feeling much better. In fact it was kinda funny because I read all of your emails about how you hope I am feeling better and I was like 'Oh yeah, I was super sick last week. I totally forgot." Funny. But yeah. I am feeling much, much better. It's fantastic. This week has been great. It has gone by super fast though. We feel like we are finally adjusting back to two companions. It was strange how quickly we acclimated to having a trio and how long it takes to get used to having only 2 again. I think its funny because 2 is what I've had the majority of my mission, you'd think I'd be super used to it. I love serving with Sis. T. She is amazing and lifts me every day. I love learning from her testimony of Jesus Christ. She is quite awesome. I feel like in my letters home I only ever talk about how cool my companions are. But it's true. I've been blessed with the greatest companions and I love them all so much. I'm a fan. They have all taught me important life lessons that I know I need to learn from them. One of the greatest blessings of serving a mission has been the knowledge that has come. I love learning about God and his plan for us. I love learning about others and their personal relationship with the Savior. I love learning about change and looking back and seeing how things have changed, improved and progressed. I love seeing the change in others and learning from that. I have learned that there is a spiritual lesson in everything. I think of the scriptures "All things denote their is a God." and "All things are spiritual unto God." and it has really helped me to see the eternal side of this life. We talk so often about how this is just a blip in our eternity. I remember a quote from some general authority that goes "We are living eternity now." We don't begin our eternity when we die but we are currently in it. Sometimes the thought crosses my mind of "Oh my goodness! My mission isn't forever! What's wrong with time? It's going too fast!" But I have learned and need to remember that I am living my life right now. My mission is part of my life, it's not a separate entity. My mission has really helped me to see things with more 'spiritual eyes' so to speak. There is a lesson to learn in everything. For example. We found a rock the other day that is in mostly the shape of a heart  and on the rock there is a chip out of it...in the shape of a heart. That was really cool for us. Mainly because heart rocks are very significant for us and it was such a tender mercy to have found that, in the pouring rain. Lesson learned. God knows our innermost feelings and whats on our hearts. But I love how the mission has helped me to seek out the significant and meaningful. I love God. I love serving him. I have loved this week. It has rained a lot which has been an answer to so many prayers here. Oregon, like many other areas in the country, has been having a drought. It's been great to get the rain. We love walking around in it. Skeeter (Aka Bro. Grandpa) is doing great. We love him and worry about him. He is quite the character. Also the other day we had something stand out to him from the scriptures and it was really cool to watch his face light up. I love that probably the most. Watching people's understandings being enlightened. So good. I love learning. Keep track of your week and see what you learn.

I love you all.

Transfer 10 Week 1

Hello Everyone!

I love you all. So simply my week went like this: Stomache flu. Pretty much. It was okay though because Sis. Taualii and I both had it, so we were able to feel the same kind of terrible at the same time. We lived on Nyquill and mashed potatoes. It was pretty much a life saver. I have a new found love for instant potatoes. Done the Idahoan way, not to bad. Some really cool things of note this week:

1. Even though we were sick we were able to do a good amount of missionary work.
2. Sis. T gave her CTR ring away to the son of someone that we teach. When we walked out of there she was all "What did I just do?" Her ring was as rare as Ty's CTR ring. I was impressed with her ability to follow the spirit. She is amazing and I love serving with her.

3. The Medford 4th Sisters called us one night and said 'WELCOME TO THE OEM SISTERS" And Sis. T and I were a little confused, because we have both been here for....10 transfers. And then they asked what our names were, we told them. Then they started busting up because they thought they had called another companionship who just had a new sister arrive. It was pure comedy. So great.

4. We talked to Zack. He was super stoned. Even admitted so himself. But so hilarious. I love when people like to talk to us. He was awesome.
5. My favorite thing this week has been what I've learned about prayer. If you have been looking at my posts on facebook then you'll know that it's been on my mind a lot lately. And also another thing I've learned the importance of is to practice what you teach. I guess this week has been a re-learning week but it's been so good. I love my mission! God is so good!

I love you all!

Transfer 9 Week 6

Dear All,

I love my companions. Sis. Slater is getting transferred and she is training. She is going to do so great. She is a wee nervous. Her first time training and going into a new area. She is going to be amazing though. I swear, every time I am called to train, I am the one who gets trained. She is amazing. I love her so incredibly much. I get to stay With Taualii. I am super stoked. She is amazing and I love her.

This week our highlight was most definitely the baptism. Yes!!! Skeeter got dunked! Pictures on Facebook! He is the greatest man! I love him so much. He is such a character! He came to Saturday session and Sunday session of stake conference and he even wore pants. This is a big deal since I've only seen him in pants twice...the rest of the time he is in sweats. He is such a sweet heart and the biggest tease. We call him grandpa and now we get to call him Bro. Grandpa because its official! He is a member! The service was amazing. He loved it. The only scary thing was as he was coming up out of the water he couldn't gain any traction with his feet and he almost fell back in. But all worked out OK! He is amazing and we went over yesterday and he said a beautiful for Slater and told us how he is inviting his sister to come to church. Before he wouldn't even talk to her about it. Now he is telling us he is asking her every Sunday and he knows if he can get her there we can do the rest. He is so funny! And so great! Love him!

I love you all!

Transfer 9 Week 5

Hello!!!
This week I am just gonna make it quick because I am kinda running out of time. I love you all. This week has been awesome! I love my companions! I don't want this transfer to end and the end is coming to quickly. I have learned so incredibly much from my companions. They are amazing and super missionaries. This past week we have been working with Skeeter to help him continue towards baptism. He is getting baptized this weekend and we are all so excited about it! It is Sis. Slaters first baptism. It is going to be epic. He is such a great old man. He is so funny. Did I tell you that he calls me Trouble and that he quit smoking with the help of word searches? So epic. Love him.

So my favorite thing ever is to see, notice and witness change. I love it. It is a testimony to me that the Atonement is real, that we truly can become more pure and more Christlike. My favorite is to notice the change in those that we are teaching and also in my companions. Change and the gospel have been the ever present constants of being on a mission. I would advocate a mission to all. They are the best!

Also. Question for all of you all who are in the...um...for lack of a better term...world. Wanna help a sister out and shoot me some ideas of how to improve the way I use Facebook or any ideas or something creative to do on it?

I love you all!
