Happy birthday!!!!!

Happy Birthday to the coolest 18 year old!!!!

Yep. We went all out with the cake. Don't judge the size. It's Magelby's man.

Yep. That's right. My baby sister is now 18.  Every time she gets older, I feel older and it's not even my birthday! We have this inside joke that I am her favorite sister. (The reason we find it funny is because we are the only sister that the other has.) Therefore, I have something to say about my 'Favorite' sister.

I feel truly grateful to have this beautiful, strong young woman in my life. She teaches me so much. She has patience and wisdom at times that is beyond her years. She has the ability to absolutely hilarious when she's not trying. She can laugh at herself. She brings out the good in me and sees the best in me. She listens to what I have to say and believes in me with her whole heart. She makes me feel like I move mountains. She is quick to forgive and quick to love.

Happy birthday to my favoritest sister! Shhh. Don't tell the others.

Baby Panda

Ok. The reason why there has been a lack of posting: I just haven't done it.

It's the typical 'I got busy and didn't think about doing it.' I can back this up though I really can. I go to work before the crack of dawn. It's like the pre-crack of dawn, when dawn is not even cracked. Why do I visit dawn before she has cracked you may ask? So I can go to work and get a paycheck. Yes Ma'am. Or Sir. I won't discriminate. Then I work for a long while and come home and help my mom make dinner. I do have the few hours between bed and dinner in which I could have but usually I am trying to get the things done that I cant do when I'm at work. Like laundry. I thought I could pull off the whole 'I'm not washing my clothes because I'll rub off my luck' but I'm not Irish so that didn't fly. I'm actually Scottish, well a tiny part of me is, not sure which part yet though.

But I'm posting now!!!! Excited? Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's get down to business. (♩ ♪ ♫ To defeat the huns ♩ ♪ ♫)  I just wanted to say how content I am with life.  I have an amazing family and I love hanging out with them. I have awesome co-workers. (Which is super important because I spend a butt-load of time with them as you can tell from the above rant.) I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I'm excited to serve my mission. (Which my next post has more details of!) I have fantastic friends and my wisdom teeth are gone with no major backlash because of their removal. I feel like thats a major plus.

Before I sign off I will share two things.

1. Favorite YouTube video right now.

2. Picture of a baby Panda.

You're Welcome.

Sometimes being grounded is a good thing.

It's been a good long while since I posted. Lots of things have occurred within this time. They can all basically be summed up in a phrase, "good times, good times."

About a month or so a go my mother grounded me and my brother from sitting next to each other in church and at the church activities we go to. She did it because we had a tendency to hide in each others shadows and coast along relatively unnoticed. So as good children we've been trying to go along with this stipulation. Sometimes it was just a pain to make a concentrated effort to sit by someone else. In the end though it was such a blessing for me that she did that.

Because I was trying to get to know more people and interact with others I've been able to get to know and to become better friends with people. Two people in particular. They are such great examples in my life and I love spending time with them. Not to mention they are hilarious and I am pretty sure my abs are getting the best work out ever from laughing so hard.

I've also been able to reinforce my conclusion that people are the greatest invention. Life is all about those we come to know and those we interact with. They fuel my desire to be a good person, to try and be kind to all and to help others. People help to give meaning to life and make it worth living. I am one lucky, thankful girl to have the friends and family that I do.

Peace.

For the past while I've been working towards a goal. A goal that consistently seemed to step backward as I stepped forward. I've been trudging and trudging and the feeling of not getting any closer became prominent.

A couple months ago my goal began to feel real.
It took shape.
I felt closer.
Today I realized that I felt calm and peace. A feeling that, yes I will get there. It's such an amazing feeling.

I am so thankful for the Holy Ghost and how it speaks to me. I can feel of the love that the Savior has for me through the Holy Ghost. I can feel peace and love when life seems bleak. I can retain perspective and know that I am loved. I can gain answers to the questions of my heart. I can be strengthened and comforted. I can be led to where my Father in Heaven would like me to go. I know that when we live the way that Christ would have us live we are able to have his spirit and be closer to Him.

I love this gospel so much which is why I've decided to serve a mission. That is my goal. The one I am working towards. A mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Thing 28 of 30

A picture of something I'm afraid of....

CONFERENCE!!!!!!!

It was so good! For me, I feel like it always is especially when I am prepared and paying attention. When you come with an attitude willing to learn and grow then it can be especially helpful. If you missed it or didn't watch it then and want to now, you still can! Go to lds.org and its there to read, to watch or to listen. They really have some great messages that are especially for you to hear.

I love that we have a prophet who receives modern revelation for us as a church. It is so comforting to know that God is watching over us and that he loves us so very dearly! Find out for yourself!

A picture of someone I miss....
J and Bubby!
(MAT Shelley too. But he is not pictured.)

My brother!

A. And she does not have this green of hair now.

J, K, A, R, M and K. They are fantastic.

Thing 26 of 30.

A picture of my day.

I basically stared at a computer screen all day. Not these particular windows all day but I was staring at a computer. It was fun. Actually. I kid you not.

Dinner!!!!!!!!

Okay...I've been saving up tasty morsels of life so that I may share with all of you!!! And I've been waiting till the biggest and tastiest morsel was ready for devouring!!!! I hope you are all ready for this because it is going to be epic!!! I'm going to try and build the momentum so the least tastiest first..... yet still yummy!!!!!

Appetizer:
Where I work I see lots of names.... and some of them are hilarious!!! OK. Here are names of note as of late:
  1. Chewbaca (First name for a little girl mind you. No joke. As in the Wookie off of Star Wars.)
  2. Gabby Goo (First and Last name for a girl.)
  3. Fierce (First name for a boy.)
  4. Terror (First name for a boy. Again. No joke.)
  5. Mrs. Pennifile (For a teacher. Rhymes with pedophile, no?)

First Course:
When I went to the temple with a friend of mine we were just chatting as we walked up to the main doors. Then her head turned to look diagonally behind us and mine followed. There was this guy holding a Pikachu and he was dressed as Ash Ketchum. Red hat plus vest. Then he went down on one knee. P.S he was talking to a girl and holding her hand the whole time he was dressed like that. Yep. I felt super legit that Ash purposed at the temple and I saw it!!!

Second Course:
While at work there were these two girls who were writing instructions to do different things and because I'd never done this particular task they used me as a trial run to see if I could understand and complete it using their written instructions. So girl A is my test subject and girl B is simply an onlooker. This particular task deals with High School Senior pictures. We have the option to take personalized photos. As in if you are in to sports bring a basketball or if your into music you'd bring your instrument. So. I asked her what she would be wearing for that picture and she says “I'm going to be wearing my wrestling onesie.” Oh. My. Good. Ness. I lost it. I was busting up so badly!!! (P.S Wrestling, the sport mind you, does not happen in onesies.) So, when I had the ability to speak again I asked what props 'he' would have. She answered with, “Yeah, I'll have my wrestling shoes and wrestling earmuffs.” My cheeks hurt so badly from laughing so hard!!!! P.P.S Wrestling also does not happen wearing earmuffs.

Third Course:
I went to an MTC reunion thing of a friend of mine. I brought a couple friends of mine who had been called to his mission and he thought it'd be great for them to be exposed to several who served in that mission. So we came and we saw. It was fantastic! There were 9 missionaries who came and they were all breaking off into broken English mixed with their language. The parts I understood were hilarious!!! There were these two sister missionaries who were companions in the MTC. (P.S MTC is the Missionary Training Center where LDS missionaries go before they actually depart on their missions to receive extra training.) One of the stories they told went like this. Sister A had to leave the room to go get something or other and Sister B had just heated up a microwave pizza. A bunch of sisters had been walking by when they asked her if she wanted to pray with them. So she said yes because saying no was sorta not an option. “Nope I've decided that praying is not for me. You go ahead.” You see the problem. Her pizza had beeped just before they had asked her so she was holding her very warm pizza in her hands. Then they all knelt in a circle as she is holding out this pizza in her hands. Her companion comes back and sees this random group of sisters kneeling with her companion as her companion is holding out this pizza in the middle of the circle. When they were done Sister A says to Sister B “Sister B I was gone for eleven seconds and I come back and your praying to a Pizza!!!!” Can I get an LOL!!! (Laugh out Loud. NOT Lots of Love.)

Dessert:
Do you remember this? Well it is now THIS!!!!!!
