1st letter from Oregon
Hey family of mine whom I love so much!!!!
Hello!! I am so excited to be able to read your emails and your letters. i have not yet received the blanket. As for my address I could give it to you but it is more sure that I will get whatever you send if you keep sending it to the mission address that you already have. Oh and in mission orientation they reminded us to remind you that when addressing letters to us it's important to have our first and last name on their. It was so good to hear from all of you!!! Ok....here is my week.
So on Monday and Tuesday we were still in the MTC. They were perfect last days. We got to attend the Temple and have a PDay before we came out. And Tuesday was wonderful with all the things we learned and the goodbyes. Wednesday we got to the airport and onto the plane. Pretty much everyone got to talk to their families except for Sis. Savage and I really did try to hurry but when we got to Oregon we had her call her family again. And we didn't sit next to each other on the plane. I sat surrounded by a whole bunch of missionaries. But I did get to watch a few of the missionaries I sat around share the gospel with those they sat next to. That was awesome. Sis. Rock gave away a book of mormon and got this guys contact information. It was crazy cool! Then we went to the mission home and they told us lots of information and we met all of the trainers, the elders and sisters. Then we had dinner. Got told more information and did role plays which are so vital, you don't even know it! Then we got to find out who our companion was. When we were first meeting the sisters and such their was one of them who said where she was serving and i felt a little tug. And later when i was doing a role play with her she was so positive and uplifting in the way she taught and I had the thought that I hope my companion was as uplifting and positive as she was. So when she was my companion I was so excited and she was excited because thats how she it. She is so sweet and such a good trainer. She tells people all the time that I came pre-trained becasue i'm willing to do things. i just shake my head. I know I have so much to learn. I am not even close to being trained. Oh, I also found out that I happen to be killing her. She goes home in four more weeks. We have seven more sisters coming in next transfer. So chances are I will get another companion who is as green as me. But it's all good because all of the sisters I know who are here are amazing!!! I am so excited to be serving in Grants pass!! The people are amazing!!!
Right now we are teaching a family and I got to lead off in teaching the first lesson and then the next time I got to lead off in extending the baptismal commitment and we set a date for the sixteenth for her and her daughter. Her name is Chennan and her daughter is McKenna. She has two sons who love church but we have yet to get them to come to our lessons but we will. Also Chennan is so willing and excited to accept the gospel. she is amazing in her faith that she has in God. Mckenna knows god is important but was reluctant to our church but the last two lessons we had we could see a change in her face. It was amazing!!! I love them so much. We are also teaching Bridgett who is a single mom as well and has a four year old son. she came to church on Sunday and brought this guy she is dating. She said "I could be a missionary too." It was awesome and she just loves the gospel too!! We are also teaching Steve and Charley and they didn't seem like they were progressing but the last meetings we had with them we could tell they were touched. We have been able to see so many miracles and blessings in the short four days that we've been in the area. I love the ward so much and I'm excited to get to know them more. Alot of the recent converts were strong catholic but we do have one that was a former JW and she is awesome. She has such a strong knowledge of the Bible. We are working with her on reading the Book of Mormon more. I am still getting to know the area. I know that there are stories that I wanted to tell about each one of these short snippets I shared but for now this will have to do.
I just want you all to know that Grants Pass is amazing and I love it so very much!!! The people are fantastic! Everything is so green and always wet! Its so great! I love missionary work so much. Being able to work with people and teaching people about the gospel, there is nothing that brings more happiness. Its amazing to watch people grow and learn. I'm so excited to be here. I love this gospel so much. I know that it is true. I know that this is the Lords work and as I rely on him we can be led to those that are ready to hear the gospel. I know that as we rely on the atonement we can be strengthened and we can feel the Love that the Savior has for us. I love you all so much!

This is Rena's second letter from the MTC- enjoy
Hellow!!!!
I feel like I have so much to say but not enough time to say it. So I feel like each week I have a different person on my mind of whom I want to say things to. First week it was Emily, Second week it was Ty...hope you caught on to that and this week it is Brett. Make sure he reads this! Because I love him so much!!!
So alot of what I have to say is about Elder Hollands talk he gave on Tuesday...um yeah. You read that right! Elder Holland totally came and talked to us! He is the man! I loved it so much! He brings such a powerful spirit with him wherever he goes!!! It is amazing!!! I also want to tell you about a recorded talk I got to watch from Elder Bednar. And I would love to tell you stories about my district. Because I love them. So here goes.
District Stories:
Anderson and Frankenberry gave an amazing lesson in our district devotional about the HG. They were able to ask some amazing questions which led to an amazing discussion which was so uplifting and inspiring. My district is seriously going to light some spiritual fires! Sis. Taualii had some distrubing dreams about me...one where I lured everyone to my house and did away with them and another was where I beat her up, chained her to a pole and planted the murder weapon on her, the murder weapon that was responsible for starting this riot. So I got concerened with how your sub concious was thinking about me. But we discovered that it was probably because the night before I told them that Emily called my eyes murky pools of murder. Oh and one time in class when we were working on door aproaches ..... sis. Taualii offered to tell him a 'bed time story'. So hilarious!!!! I have also had amazing experiences with talking to the missionaries where I can feel the spirit either guiding or very present. Like with Sis. Rock and about Gods Love. Or with this sister in my Branch ( I just love her to death!!! sis. cox! Amazing girl!) about companions and such. This truly is the Lords work. We had a testimony as a district! So powerful. These missionaries have taught me so much about the attributes of Christ and his Doctorine. I sincerly do love them so much!!! So we had in field orientation of which the fire alarm went off and we all had to go outside...but I didn't have my coat with me so the awesome Sisters in my district stood really close so I could steal their body heat. And sis Savage and sis Allred and I went on a vending machince Hunt for me to get food. My district loved your cookies!!!! They want the rescipee unless they are from costco? My Comps loved their packages as well! Oh and leg wrestling has become a big thing for us sisters. I get flipped so many times cause I am a tiny person. Oh and I totally can flip some of them though, just saying.
Elder Holland Talk:
It was so amazing!!!! He basically told us that he COMMANDED us to come back with at least one convert and it had better be us. He also said that we don't want to meet him in a dark alley if we had strayed from the church. He is such a funny guy but delivers his message with such power and authority that you know he is not messing around. He said that we had better start thinking that our mission is real life becasue there is nothing more real than this. Remember that this is the Lords gospel and we need to do it his way!! We also cant have his spirit unless we keep his rules which goes back to being exactly obeidiant. He told us "LOOK!!! Go out there and astonish somebody!!! That is what you are supposed to do!!! ( Sorry my spelling is awful, I'm trying to go fast. Sorry that I cant tell you more becasue I am running out of time!)
Elder Bednar recorded talk:
The character of Christ is to turn outwards. To help others even when we are going through our darkest hour. The lord loves us but wants us to focusing on blessing others. We need to look outward, not inward.
There is so much more I wanted to say but I really have to go soon. Please know that I will write you and that I love you all so much!!! Oregon is going to be amazing. Oh and my comp, Sis Savage is still the bomb. I Love her so much!!!! I can't wait for you all to meet her when we get home. You will love her! We have decided to be kindred spirits, because really, that is what we are! But I love you all so much!!!!! So sososososososososososososo much!!!!! Be safe. Choose the right. Think good thoughts. Eat food and exercise. Be good boys and good girls. Go out there and be incredible!!!
practice for mom

Goodbye Blue World!!!!
I know I have not posted in awhile but this is my last post for a year and a half. My mom will be posting my letters that I send home on this blog so it will be updated in that way.
There has been so much going on lately as I have tried to prepare to get to this point. I know that this is the path that Heavenly Father wants me on. As nervous as I am about it I know this is what he wants from me. I feel so blessed as I've been able to spend time with the people I love and care about. They have come in a way and at times that allowed me to spend quality time with each of them. I have been so grateful to spend time with my family during the holiday seasons and I am so excited that I get to start my new year by serving a full time mission in Oregon.
I want you all to know that I love you and I'm going to miss you so much. I wish you the best with your lives and.........if you wanted to write me.......you totally should because I so conveniently posted my address on the side!!! See how neat that is?!?!!
My last movie was Step Up, my last 'worldly' song was 'Shake it Out' by Florence and the Machine. My last text was from a good friend of mine who lives in Oregon. My last phone call was with Michelle. And this is my last post for a year and a half!
Peace be unto you!!!
I will now be Sis. Adair!!!!
So cool!!!!!!!
