Hey family of mine whom I love so much!!!!
Hello!! I am so excited to be able to read your emails and your letters. i have not yet received the blanket. As for my address I could give it to you but it is more sure that I will get whatever you send if you keep sending it to the mission address that you already have. Oh and in mission orientation they reminded us to remind you that when addressing letters to us it's important to have our first and last name on their. It was so good to hear from all of you!!! Ok....here is my week.
So on Monday and Tuesday we were still in the MTC. They were perfect last days. We got to attend the Temple and have a PDay before we came out. And Tuesday was wonderful with all the things we learned and the goodbyes. Wednesday we got to the airport and onto the plane. Pretty much everyone got to talk to their families except for Sis. Savage and I really did try to hurry but when we got to Oregon we had her call her family again. And we didn't sit next to each other on the plane. I sat surrounded by a whole bunch of missionaries. But I did get to watch a few of the missionaries I sat around share the gospel with those they sat next to. That was awesome. Sis. Rock gave away a book of mormon and got this guys contact information. It was crazy cool! Then we went to the mission home and they told us lots of information and we met all of the trainers, the elders and sisters. Then we had dinner. Got told more information and did role plays which are so vital, you don't even know it! Then we got to find out who our companion was. When we were first meeting the sisters and such their was one of them who said where she was serving and i felt a little tug. And later when i was doing a role play with her she was so positive and uplifting in the way she taught and I had the thought that I hope my companion was as uplifting and positive as she was. So when she was my companion I was so excited and she was excited because thats how she it. She is so sweet and such a good trainer. She tells people all the time that I came pre-trained becasue i'm willing to do things. i just shake my head. I know I have so much to learn. I am not even close to being trained. Oh, I also found out that I happen to be killing her. She goes home in four more weeks. We have seven more sisters coming in next transfer. So chances are I will get another companion who is as green as me. But it's all good because all of the sisters I know who are here are amazing!!! I am so excited to be serving in Grants pass!! The people are amazing!!!
Right now we are teaching a family and I got to lead off in teaching the first lesson and then the next time I got to lead off in extending the baptismal commitment and we set a date for the sixteenth for her and her daughter. Her name is Chennan and her daughter is McKenna. She has two sons who love church but we have yet to get them to come to our lessons but we will. Also Chennan is so willing and excited to accept the gospel. she is amazing in her faith that she has in God. Mckenna knows god is important but was reluctant to our church but the last two lessons we had we could see a change in her face. It was amazing!!! I love them so much. We are also teaching Bridgett who is a single mom as well and has a four year old son. she came to church on Sunday and brought this guy she is dating. She said "I could be a missionary too." It was awesome and she just loves the gospel too!! We are also teaching Steve and Charley and they didn't seem like they were progressing but the last meetings we had with them we could tell they were touched. We have been able to see so many miracles and blessings in the short four days that we've been in the area. I love the ward so much and I'm excited to get to know them more. Alot of the recent converts were strong catholic but we do have one that was a former JW and she is awesome. She has such a strong knowledge of the Bible. We are working with her on reading the Book of Mormon more. I am still getting to know the area. I know that there are stories that I wanted to tell about each one of these short snippets I shared but for now this will have to do.
I just want you all to know that Grants Pass is amazing and I love it so very much!!! The people are fantastic! Everything is so green and always wet! Its so great! I love missionary work so much. Being able to work with people and teaching people about the gospel, there is nothing that brings more happiness. Its amazing to watch people grow and learn. I'm so excited to be here. I love this gospel so much. I know that it is true. I know that this is the Lords work and as I rely on him we can be led to those that are ready to hear the gospel. I know that as we rely on the atonement we can be strengthened and we can feel the Love that the Savior has for us. I love you all so much!
