I GOT MY CALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It came! It finally came! My mission call arrived!!!!!!!!!!!! After only two weeks of waiting!!!!!! I know, I know! I'm so psyched! All the time!!! Ok... so my super hip and cool mom took a video of me opening my call so you can experience the moment too!!! Awesome Right?
This is the area in which I will be serving.... all the highlighted yellow!
Ok. The reason why there has been a lack of posting: I just haven't done it.
It's the typical 'I got busy and didn't think about doing it.' I can back this up though I really can. I go to work before the crack of dawn. It's like the pre-crack of dawn, when dawn is not even cracked. Why do I visit dawn before she has cracked you may ask? So I can go to work and get a paycheck. Yes Ma'am. Or Sir. I won't discriminate. Then I work for a long while and come home and help my mom make dinner. I do have the few hours between bed and dinner in which I could have but usually I am trying to get the things done that I cant do when I'm at work. Like laundry. I thought I could pull off the whole 'I'm not washing my clothes because I'll rub off my luck' but I'm not Irish so that didn't fly. I'm actually Scottish, well a tiny part of me is, not sure which part yet though.
But I'm posting now!!!! Excited? Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's get down to business. (♩ ♪ ♫ To defeat the huns ♩ ♪ ♫) I just wanted to say how content I am with life. I have an amazing family and I love hanging out with them. I have awesome co-workers. (Which is super important because I spend a butt-load of time with them as you can tell from the above rant.) I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I'm excited to serve my mission. (Which my next post has more details of!) I have fantastic friends and my wisdom teeth are gone with no major backlash because of their removal. I feel like thats a major plus.
My mission papers are in! They have been sent off!!! In a few days my face will flash up on a big screen and the place for the next year and a half of my life will be decided! I am super excited and all sorts of giddy!!! I love it!!!
It's been a good long while since I posted. Lots of things have occurred within this time. They can all basically be summed up in a phrase, "good times, good times."
About a month or so a go my mother grounded me and my brother from sitting next to each other in church and at the church activities we go to. She did it because we had a tendency to hide in each others shadows and coast along relatively unnoticed. So as good children we've been trying to go along with this stipulation. Sometimes it was just a pain to make a concentrated effort to sit by someone else. In the end though it was such a blessing for me that she did that.
Because I was trying to get to know more people and interact with others I've been able to get to know and to become better friends with people. Two people in particular. They are such great examples in my life and I love spending time with them. Not to mention they are hilarious and I am pretty sure my abs are getting the best work out ever from laughing so hard.
I've also been able to reinforce my conclusion that people are the greatest invention. Life is all about those we come to know and those we interact with. They fuel my desire to be a good person, to try and be kind to all and to help others. People help to give meaning to life and make it worth living. I am one lucky, thankful girl to have the friends and family that I do.
For the past while I've been working towards a goal. A goal that consistently seemed to step backward as I stepped forward. I've been trudging and trudging and the feeling of not getting any closer became prominent.
A couple months ago my goal began to feel real.
It took shape.
I felt closer.
Today I realized that I felt calm and peace. A feeling that, yes I will get there. It's such an amazing feeling.
I am so thankful for the Holy Ghost and how it speaks to me. I can feel of the love that the Savior has for me through the Holy Ghost. I can feel peace and love when life seems bleak. I can retain perspective and know that I am loved. I can gain answers to the questions of my heart. I can be strengthened and comforted. I can be led to where my Father in Heaven would like me to go. I know that when we live the way that Christ would have us live we are able to have his spirit and be closer to Him.
I love this gospel so much which is why I've decided to serve a mission. That is my goal. The one I am working towards. A mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
