Transfer 8 Week 6

Dear All,
So Transfers are today and Sis. Conley got moved. And we are still a trio. We got Sis. Taualii....which if you have a super good memory was in the MTC with me. Super excited. Never thought that would happen. Cool Though. So Sis. Slater is still here and in training. We are gonna do some major good all together.
Fun things of note:
1) Sis. Conley thought I was odd for eating pasta burritos. Yes. Its really yummy. I like them a lot. And the other day we had mac and cheese lagansa.
2) The Primary President in the ward here made me a jello cake because in Primary as we were talking to the kids I mentioned that I liked it. She remembered that she did too so she made me one. I really felt cool.
3) We had a Zone Training Meeting and I learned so much. My major take away were to a) always be prepared b) know the book of Mormon inside and out and c) Make god the motivation. Also I have decided that I want to be more dignified. We shall see.
4) Something that we are learning a lot about currently is having a vision, then setting goals to how to reach that vision and then planning how to reach our goals. I am so glad to be learning and refining this skill because knowing how to plan and be organized will be good to know how to do in life.
This last week we went on exchanges so we were not home much and we learned a lot from the other sisters. We went to Roseburg and Winston which are about an hour and a half away from where I am. My take away from that are to be confident in myself, to trust in my calling a servant of the Lord and to be focused on the work. Things that is always good to have a reminder of.
I love you all.

Transfer 8 Week 5

Dear all!

I have lots to tell you. So first I will tell you about my companions. Sis. Conley. She is so witty. She keeps me in line. She is awesomeness personified. She loves being a missionary so much its ridiculous. She corrects my grammar. She is the funnest person to tease around with. She is constantly striving to improve. She is such an example to me. She raised goats. She is from Nevada City California. No one has ever heard of it except the people from there. She has all sisters and one brother. She loves her dog. Up until about a week ago her face book picture was her dog. When she showed me her family pictures the first one she showed me was her dog. She really, really loves her dog. And she loves this gospel with all her heart.  Sis. Slater is just about as sweet as they come...to use a mom phrase. She is so Christ like. She is humble, patient, diligent, charitable....she just has it all. She is new new new new but she is learning so quickly. She is always willing and never complains about me pushing her into the deep end. She jumps in with both feet and is so chill. I love her to death and she gives amazing hugs and she is the short one. We have the same hair cut. Also for our first district meeting here she forgot her name tag so I let her borrow mine and we convinced our zone leaders and a few other missionaries that we were sisters and were so amazed that President put us together. It was hilarious. She is from St. George UT and has three brothers. And two sisters. She is the third and is the first in her family to go on a mission. She likes motorcycles and snakes but is about as girly and stylish as they come. They are both super easy going and we all get along really well. Like, really, really well. We have decided that we always want to be in a trio. They are literally the best. Conley is also a visa waiter for Brazil. I love them both. Is that enough info on them?

Fun stories from not this last week but the week before that I forgot to tell....
1. We are teaching this man who in a middle of the lesson told me that I had a speech impediment and then when he came to church a few days latter I bore my testimony in sacrament and he said it had magically disappeared. Also when we were on exchanges I was talking to this guy, it was dark and we were about 30 feet from him and he asked if I was drunk. Moral of the story...listen to my fathers advice and enunciate my words....yep. I think I cured my speech impediment.

2. We were talking to the wife of one of our investigators about how her week was and she made the comment that she was like a "mouse on fire." We really liked that saying and now have been saying it non-stop.

3. I have developed the habit of saying 'Thanks Boss." when someone does something super epic for me and I want to thank them. And I said that to Sis. Conley and she replied..."Emplooooyeee." and I thought it was funny. And I always say 'Thanks Mom" to her because she is like my mother and keeps me out of trouble.

Highlights from this week:
Monday the 2nd: We had p-day. That is always a highlight for us and they go so quickly.
Tuesday the 3rd: I went on exchanges. So the sister training leader who is over the zone I am in needed to do exchanges with my sisters ( I am the training leader over a different zone.) so I was with her companion. We decorated a tree for some members and we helped this other lady figure out how to email and we taught this woman who has an amazing story about the plan of salvation. It was a pretty good day. Great quote I got from that sister...."We set goals to show our faith and we follow up on our goals to count our blessings."

Wednesday the 4th: We had zone conference. This meant I got to see President and also Sis. Marble because her zone came and joined ours. (Sis. Marble was one of the sisters that I trained.) We learned about how to have higher expectaions and not to put limits on God because he doesn't have them. Also that was the first day that we got trained on how to use face book. Also it was Sis. Conley's birthday so Slater and I made sure that everyone knew and she got lots of nice things told to her and it was great.

Thursday: Sis. Conley set a goal of faith to invite someone to baptism and she did so on the doorstep and we are excited to follow up and go teach this girl more about the gospel.
Friday: It started snowing and all the missionaries had to park their cars. I scoffed at that because it wasn't even that bad. But by the afternoon it was coming down pretty good and I understood. So all in all we got about 3-4 inches. And they had a snow day. Also. No one in Oregon knows how to drive in the snow because this is weird for them. People keep saying... I have lived here for 15 years and have never seen it stay this long. I never expected for Oregon to look like UT. My poor St. George companion is very cold. Also we committed Rick to baptism. He is awesome.

Saturday: We were supposed to go to Winston for an exchange which is an hour and a half away but because of weather we didn't. So we walked around all day in the cold. Fun fact for you...if you have two awesome companions then you can't possibly stay in a bad mood because of the temperature. They are so much fun.

Sunday: It was a beautiful finish to this wonderful week. We had investigators come to church, we had wonderful spirit filled meetings and wonderful lessons. We had our car privileges reinstated because the sun came out and we just love being missionaries.  It is the greatest thing ever.

Tomorrow is Slater's birthday and Sis. Conley and I are making her do a scavenger hunt today because tomorrow we will be on exchanges in Winston.

So something that I really want to share is an insight I had while studying this week. I was reading in chapter 8 in 1 Nephi and I love reading about Lehi's dream. It makes me think of so many people as I read the different various ways to get to the tree of life. I love the thought that as missionaries we get to share the iron rod with everyone. It is their choice as to whether or not they grab on but we get to show it to them. I do have to admitt that it is heart breaking to watch them turn it down but oh how sweet is our joy when someone says yes. I feel like Lehi, as he exhorts his sons with all the feeling of a tender parents as I talk to people about the gospel.  Agency is a big deal. We are all able and capable of excercising it. I am always amazed at how when we keep the commandments we can then exercise more agency and when we disobey, our choices are limited or restricted. I know that God is watching over us and wants us to grab hold of the iron rod, to be on the pathway that leads to his love and his presence. I love being a missionary with all my heart its ridiculous. I have never been so happy and so thrilled with where I am at in life. I feel so spoiled to be here. God is good and he loves you so much. Turn to him.

I love you all so much!

Transfer 8 Week 4

So my companions are amazing. I love being in a trio so so so so so much! I love them! Trios are the funnest thing! We get so much done too! We are hard at work bringing souls to Christ. I am only going to tell you the highlights because there are other missionaries chomping at the bit to get on....

I went to MLC this last week and on the way back we had to stop in Grants Pass (my first area) and we had to change cars with the sisters there. Guess who I got to see? BRANDON!!!! Sis. Marble was there with me to and we got to see a bunch of our old ward and it was glorious but the best part was seeing Brandon. We were his missionaries.

Another highlight is that We found a family to teach, and two other guys. One of the guys is super eccentric and so much fun. The other is super sweet and sincere. I love them both. Missionary work is the greatest thing ever!

Also another highlight is the fact that Thanksgiving happened. We had such a blast at the members house. We also visited several other people. We got to eat yummy food, play some riveting apples to apples and also we watched some great mormon messages.

I love you all. Ask me questions about my comps and area. Sometimes I don't know what to tell you about it all but I want to tell you it all and then I get overwhelemed because there is so much to tell. I love you all!

Transfer 8 Week 3

So this week was great. I love my companions. We have fun times everyday. So we are going to have an awesome Thanksgiving. I have no more time to write I love you much. I will send snail mail.
Cross my heart.

Love Sis. Adair

Transfer 8 Week 2

Family,

Time has gone by super fast. I can't beleive it is already the middle of November. We are going to be spending Thanksgiving with an awesome family! The Wife speaks Portuegese which is great for my companion. Oh and yeah, I am in a Trio. (Not sure where we will be for Christmas, there is a transfer in between now and then so I might get moved again.) So the begining of this week, Monday and Tuesday I was with the Eugene YSA sisters. I love them. Mom, you will apprciate that one of them, Sis. Hancock, was folding my socks so that they matched. Don't worry, I showed her the correct way to match my socks. Also when I was with the YSA sisters there was a recent convert who was having us over for dinner and we were ready for desert and I picked up the box of cookies with one hand to bring it to the table and the bottom fell out and cookies went all over the floor. Red velvet floor cookies are so good, well, according to Sis. Hancock. So on Tuesday night I found out where I would be the rest of the Transfer. I am in Central Point first ward! And if you know your Oregon wards you would know that the Medford Temple (which is actually in Central Point) is in my ward boundries. Lucky, right? I think so. Also on Tuesday we had zone conference and Elder Foster of the 70 was touring the mission. It was so great. So Wednesday afternoon I met my new companions. Sis. Conley is a visa waiter who is going to Brazil and Sis. Slater is a brand new new missionary and I am training her. We are all so differant but we are super awesome together! Also Sis. Slater and I could be twins. We have the same hair color and style and she loves switch blades and wants a motorcycle and has super tiny hands. Sis. Conley is very focused, witty and time oriented. We are awesome. It took a little to adjust but we are doing fantastically well. The view from our apartment is epic. We are up on a little hill and can overlook the whole valley and watch the sunrise when we run in the morning. Also our bedroom takes on the appearance of a cabin and feels like it when we wake up in the morning. I am learning the art of sleeping with my head covered.

I love you all!

Transfer 7 Week 6

Dear All you All that I love so dear!

This last week was amazing! Especially Sunday! God is so good and I feel so blessed! So my mother has requested a newsy letter. Which probably means that I have not been being newsy enough. I will have you all know that I am in love with missionary work and would be pleased to stay forever. I really would. I love the other sisters here. They complete me. Just kidding. But really. They are amazing. Ok. So biggest news....TRANSFERS! I am sad to announce that I am leaving my beloved Coquille. I really, really, really love that ward. And the people we were teaching. So good. And I am going to miss Sis. Opheim. She is amazing. My new area is in....drumroll.......Eugene. The epicenter of the mission! My area is teeny tiny compared to my last 3. You could drive for an hour and still be in the area. My new area is very small but will have a ton of people. My new companion's name is Sis. Quessenberry. I served near her in my last area a couple transfers ago. She served in Bandon. We got pretty close and I never expected for us to be companions. I am so excited for it though. She is amazing. When I first met her I was pretty sure we already knew each other. I will send a picture that I have with her. This next transfer will be great! I am super stoked.

So this last week. We can start with Monday. We were in Coos Bay for a sisters activity, we played on the beach and ate food. Exciting right? Pretty much. It was a blast. I will send pictures of that too. P.S I found the girl that I personally think Tyrell should marry. He can date all he wants but when she gets home from her mission she is the kind that it would be worth it to drop everything for. Just saying. I am not putting this plug in for her because I like her, which I do, but because I really think that they would be so very good for each other and with each other. Just saying. Ty, you should trust me on this one. Just think about it. And no I'm not telling you her name or which one she is.  So after the activity we went to an investigator who lives a ways away and she has been super sick because of being pregnant. She was feeling good enough to talk with us for awhile. Her story is amazing. She just came from Ghana and her husband has been here for 3 years. He won the imigration lotery and was able to immigrate to the states. He joined shortly after he came and she is planning on being baptized. She has been here for 3 months. They are amazing. And so beautifully black. I love them. They have the most adorable 3 year old who is so cute and I would love to hold her except......no kids! So after an amazing lesson with her we went to our investigators who are getting baptized this thursday! (I'm missing it but it is going to be amazing!) Emily and Beto are 10 and 8. They are the cutest, smartest kids. I love them! We had a great lesson with them! Tuesday we had such a busy day! It was wonderful! We went from appt to appt. and it was great.  Part of what made this week great was how busy we were. We also found new people to teach. One of them we found on the street while we were walking and I chased her down a little and my comp was scandalized. But we started teaching her and she is epic. She has met with Elders about a year ago but it sounds like she fell through the cracks. We ... they are excited to teach her!  Also the sister who replaced me when I left Grants pass is the one who is replacing me in Coquille. She is amazing and I love her. Eventually she will follow me into the same area at the same time and we will serve together.

Halloween was great. We did some service and I got to mow a lawn which was 60% hills. We ate dinner with my favorite members and had chillie and cornbread! Friday and Saturday we had everything fall through and nothing was working out. But we all know that right before and right after something epic happens is when adversity comes the hardest. Are you ready for the glory of Sunday to unfold?

We were sitting in ward council before church started and we needed to leave to make a phone call to an investigator to wake them up to come to church. While we were out side, one of the returning less actives that we have been working with walked in. We were all 'You're here early!' And she said... "Oh man, I forgot daylight savings. Well while I'm here, do you have a minute?" So we went into another room. She was bursting with excitement! After meeting with us for 3 1/2 months of praying, reading and listening for an answer she felt like she had not gotten it. Then as we listened to her story of how she received an answer the spirit testified so powerfuly that the church is true. It was amazing. I am so happy that she was able to share that with me before i left. When I come back to the mission she is going to take me to the place where she received her answer when she was out camping. Also we had this girl named Alisha come to church, outta left feild she showed up. We had been trying to meet with her forever. And also we had another investigator come too that had not come before! It was so great! Also I was able to meet with and say bye to all that I loved and cared about. God is good.

I love you all.
Have a good week.

Transfer 7 Week 5

Transfers are this weekend. Thank you for all the encouraging mail. I love you all so much. I love my area so much, I don't want to be moved but I think I will be. It doesn't help that Pres. wrote my comp in an email and said "You've learned a lot from your first companion and the time is coming for you to keep moving on and take over the area and keep running." So... I'm leaving. I love it so much here I am so sad about it. But I am thrilled to be able to have made so many lasting friendships here. I know that this ward and the people I have taught have influenced my life forever. When I come back to Oregon, Coquille will be a wonderful stop to make. This week was good. I did an exchange, taught some awesome lessons, ate yummy food, and now I am emailing you and getting super excited to hang out with the sisters in my zone. I love them so much! They make my soul so happy. I just cant stand how happy missions make you. I want to run around with a giant banner about the gospel but I've heard that is a little inappropriate. Well. I guess I will just run around in my skirt...and shirt, my awesome Dansco shoes and my black name tag proclaiming good tidings of good! I love this gospel. I love this church! I love my Savior so much!
Also the primary program took place in chruch this week and it was the cutest thing ever! I loved it so much! The primary is small in this ward but they are still super classic. I love them alot. I can name them all by name and place them with their families! Also we had our two investigators who are primary age participate and they did so good! That was awesome!

Transfer 7 Week 4

Hello My lovely family!!!!
So as I was writing my President I thought, 'Hey this is pretty good. I'll just copy it and send it out to my family too. This is how I feel.' So here is another excerpt from my letter to my President, who by the way is so fantastic. I want you all to meet him and love him too. His wife is also amazing and brilliant.

"We have been working hard. I am still praying for a 'big miracle'. We learn everyday. We are improving how we teach. We, as a companionship, are getting better at talking with EVERYONE. We add to our miracle wall each day. And yet I have nothing huge, big or momentous to report. Sometimes I look at my week and think, 'Golly, no one got translated, no beam of lights, no angelic appearances. I'm not sure what to write president.' I do go out and expect miracles and do things that show I am acting in faith and often I feel as if there is no fruit. We talked about small and simple things to bring great things to pass. I feel like a continuation of that would be, 'sometimes the great things that occur come about by stacking many small and simple things together.' I feel like this describes my mission. At times I feel like a slacker missionary because of the lack of baptisms under my belt. But then I shake off the thoughts that Satan slips in and remember, as preach my Gospel puts it, 'Our success as a missionary is measured by our commitment...' I love this work so much! And yet, despite our commitment level some weeks we may feel like we didn't make a difference and other weeks we feel avalanched by miracles. I have been trying to focus on the small and simple things that are coming to pass as a result of our consistent effort. I was looking at our numbers for this transfer and compared them to last transfer. I was so pleased to see a consistent improvement in every area. Some other small and simple blessings have been more energy to deal with grumpy people. An optimistic attitude when appointments cancel. Being able to laugh. Feeling a deep and abiding love for missionary work. Seeing my knowledge increase about the gospel. Feeling my capacity increase to follow the spirit. Seeing the growth in my companion. One thing in specific stands out for this week in particular, I've felt a need to have more heartfelt, specific and meaningful prayers. As I have made an effort in my prayers I have received little golden nuggets of how to improve in little ways that have really helped. God is good. He listens. He is aware. He loves us all so much and I love feeling how much he loves his children here in Oregon."

Also a quote that Rylie sent me. I really want to share it cause I like it.

“No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good. A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means. This is an obvious lie. Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is. After all, you find out the strength of the German army by fighting against it, not by giving in. You find out the strength of a wind by trying to walk against it, not by lying down. A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness — they have lived a sheltered life by always giving in. We never find out the strength of the evil impulse inside us until we try to fight it: and Christ, because He was the only man who never yielded to temptation, is also the only man who knows to the full what temptation means — the only complete realist.”
C.S Lewis
I love you all so much!

Transfer 7 Week 3

Dear Yall.

This week has been good. It's a little fuzzy though because my brain is fuzzy. I'm having a little of a head cold. No biggy. Just a little fuzzy. So main things of note. I got my package. Thank you family. It was awesome. I loved it! The best package ever! I saved all the notes that were on everything. Thank you! Oh and I am not so sure I want to wait until the conf. issue is out. I wont have a personal one for me to own and I don't want to send an entire magazine back and forth. Maybe I explained it wrong. Any how. The print versions of the talks are now on lds.org and ready to be printed. If you want to print one out, read it, mark it, comment on it and send it to me. It's like a letter. But a talk. I am wanting to send you one of my favorites this week. So watch for it. I love you all so much!
Another thing of note. I love my Mission President. He is so awesome. I love that man. He truly is inspired of God and he lives so close to the spirit. I know he has to because of all of us but it is amazing to watch God work through him. He is awesome.

Sis. Opheim and I in a bathroom at a dinner appointment.

I burned a tie and those are the remains.
And Then me with a sweet hair doo. In my apartment. Where no one but me and my comp can see it.

So. Sis. Clove and I had to take part in a Zone Training meeting so we left our companions together and snuck off to go plan for it and we took pictures because we are awesome at multitastking and she looked really cute!

This is a cool flower.

We are holding hammers because we used them and this lady was all 'You need hammers cause it's tough out there.' and so we took a picture. Great story right.

I did not mearly take a picture of dirt. It was a creation done by the kids whom live above our apartment and its a village. For an elephant and some lion cubs and panda bears. They are huts and roads.

This is Sis. Coon and I on exchanges. We were doing service and these people grew these pumpkins. They are cool pumpkins and cool people.

Transfer 7 Week 2

Hello all!!!
I hope you never ever forget the love I have for you but even more so I hope you never forget the Love that God has for you.  I have felt his love for me this week so strongly. There has been opposition but oh how sweet is the Joy. I loved conference this weekend! I loved our Zone Training meeting we also had this week! I just really loved this week. One of my companions told me that 'God blesses us because he loves us but he expects us to take that blessing and share it with others." As we were able to receive answers, additional light and knowledge, and an out pouring of the spirit from conference I know that we need to share it with others. This week I am going to share with you some of what I wrote my president this week.

"President Young,

This week we went over the baptismal questions with the two young kids that we have on date and realized that they are not ready for baptism. They need to be taught more so they have time for the lessons to sink in. We were very bummed about needing to move back their date again. We feel like it will be good and it will also give their dad time to get more on board as well. After cancelling their date I felt as if I were no longer contributing to meeting our goal of 150 baptisms for the months of Sept-Nov. We are working on getting people on date for November but I didn't want to feel like dead weight for October. I had recently been talking to Sis. Clove and she shared an experience where you had sent out an email and said if we wanted to see a big miracle then to ask for it. I'm glad she reminded me of this and it kept coming back to my mind. So, that's exactly what we did. I talked with Sis. Opheim about it and we decided to set a goal for 2 people to be baptized on the 26th of October. We don't know who exactly they will be yet. We also fasted and knew we needed to find 2 new people who were ready for baptism. The day that we fasted, we went with a member to contact a woman named Nicole. She used to visit Nicole but hadn't been in years and wanted us to meet her. Nicole had taken the discussions ten years previous and now her daughter had sat in on them in Coos Bay whenever she was at her aunts house, the missionaries were teaching her cousin. Nicole and her daughter said they would be interested in learning more and would love to have us teach them. Later that day, an hour after we had broken our fast we went to see a woman that had cancelled on us every time prior but this time she was there. She has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and wasn't feeling in the mood to talk. We offered to pray with her which she accepted gratefully. After the prayer she began to talk with us about her church and how she felt as if something was missing. We were able to teach her the Restoration. She kept commenting how this answered questions that she had had for years. She also said she would be willing to be baptized. We are so excited to go back and teach her. Whether or not this woman or the family will be the ones to accept baptism on the 26th, we feel very blessed by God."
This week I have felt so blessed. I have been able to see some dear Sisters whom I love so much. I've been able to have some very meaningful conversations that have had a deep impact on me. I've been able to learn from God how he wants me to improve. I have felt his love for his children. I feel his love for me so deeply and I am so excited to share this love with those here in Oregon. I love my mission because it's not MY mission, its HIS mission for me and he is truly leading and guiding every step of the way.
I loved conference so much! I loved so many of the talks. I have a request. I really really really want you to do this. So as soon as I make the request I'd like for you to put in your phones on an alarm or write sticky notes and place them all over so you don't forget or better yet you can pause reading my letter and do it now. So the request is.... Print out your favorite talk from Conference and read it, mark it, highlight it, make notes on it and then send it to me. So. Pause. Make a note on your phone. Start making sticky notes and placing them everywhere. Or go to LDS.org and print it out right now. Please. I really want to discuss conference with you and this is the only adequate and effective way I can think of. Or you can email me what your favorite talk was and I will print it out and read it first. So please? Thank you! I love you all! (I actaully think the talks are not available for print yet but as soon as they are...)

Transfer 7 Week 1

Dear Everyone!
My little sister emailed me today and wrote some pretty hilarious and thought provoking things which have prompted me to write how much I love my mission. I have been feeling that a lot lately. I just cant get over how much I love, love, love, love my mission. I have felt that way before but never to such the extent that I feel it now. But! Before I get to into how much I love my mission I want you all to know that my sister whom I love is turning older!! Yep! She is having a birthday! What What! Happy Birthday Emily!
Ok. So. I really and truly do love my mission with all my heart! I love the people. I love the schedule. I love my companions (current and past). I love bearing testimony, I love the awkward moment of getting out of the car and semi chasing someone down or full on chasing someone down. I love studying in the morning. I love walking for hours in the pouring rain, I love having meetings to go to. I love having lessons cancel and being able to find a wonderful new person to teach. I love my mission President with all my heart. I love his wife too, she is pretty fantastic. I love feeling the spirit. I love learning more about the gospel, myself and others than I have at any other time in my life. I love getting letters (hint, hint). I love it so much because its the lords work. It is such a blessing to be out here. I feel so blessed so be able to meet these wonderful people here and to have this amazing experience.
To anyone who is still pondering whether to serve or not, my advice is to Go! Of course take it to the Lord and pray because ultimately it is between you and him. Missions are the greatest thing ever! You may hear that over and over and over from returned missionaries, current missionaries or people who because of a missionary came into the gospel. I want to add my testimony to all that have come before, I am so blessed to serve a mission because God is allowing me to glimpse eternity each and every single day. At times as I have pondered what eternity is like my head threatens to explode because I cant comprehend the idea of forever. But when I think about the Holy Ghost and how it makes me feel, how it makes those whom we teach feel, I know that I am glimpsing eternity and it is wonderful. However God gave us all a way to glimpse eternity whether we decided to serve missions or not.
There is a place in Preach My Gospel that when looking things up on the Holy Ghost, it refers you to the Bible Dictionary under Earnest. I hadn't a clue how 'Earnest' and 'Holy Ghost' connected but when we read in 2 Cor 1:22 or 5:5 or Eph. 1:14 we see Paul use it in the context of speaking about the Holy Ghost. in the bible dictionary it says Earnest: A pledge or security. The word thus translated is a commercial term denoting the deposit paid by a buyer on entering into an agreement for the purchase of anything. As used by Paul it means that the Lord gives us his Holy Spirit in this life as a foretaste of the joy in eternal life. The spirit is also the Lord's surety that he will fulfill his promise to give eternal life to the faithful.
I found that absolutely beautiful. The Holy Ghost is a beautiful gift and promise that we have been given. It brings us happiness and joy. It allows us to carry that joy to others. It testifies of the truthfulness of the Restored Gospel. It helps others to come unto Christ. I love my Savior. I am so grateful he has allowed me, as weak as I am, to come out and participate as a full time missionary in his glorious work.
I love you all! Have a great week!

Transfer 6 Week 6

Hello Everyone!!
So transfers came and went. I am staying in Coquille and Sis. Opheim is too. We are excited to stay here. We have so many buns in the oven and have just found some awesome people to work with! These next 6 weeks are going to be epic. We are excited for all of the miracles we will witness and all of the amazing changes that will take place.
This last week we got to go to the temple! I loved it so much! I didn't realize how much I missed it! For all you in Utah, make sure you go as much as you can! The temples are so close! I felt like all the wrinkles in my soul got smoothed out. I love talking to God. He is such a good listener and wants to talk to us too so badly.
I love this gospel. I love the knowledge we have. I love God. I love Christ. I am so thrilled to be a missionary at this time. We are busily trying to 'Catch the wave' and are so excited for conference!
Love you all!

Transfer 6 Week 5

Dear Everyone,
I love you all. This week was good. Another Exchange. Zone conference. Good solid finding. Sorry it's so short this week. Know that I am doing good. It will be better next week. Oh and President said the best thing we could ever write you in a letter would be: I am an obedient missionary. And I am.

I love you all.

Transfer 6 Week 4... I think.

Dear Family and other affiliated loved ones:
I broke another microwave. No joke. I wanted to be lazy and I wanted a burrito so i stuck in a burrito and 30 seconds into cooking.... there was a pop and the microwave was no more. Sad day. Now we have no microwave. Teaches me to be lazy.

So this week was crazy! Monday after P-Day was over we drove to Eugene. On Tuesday I was at a meeting for the mission leadership and my companion was working in Eugene with another sister. Our meeting was awesome. We did a service project at a girls camp and because of how it was set up we ended up staying in our service clothes all meeting. Highlight!  We did a confidence course. It was great. I love learning by the spirit because it teaches us truth and 'brings all things to our remembrance.' Wednesday I was on an exchange in Coos Bay. It was fantastic. We talked to so many people. The sister I was with is one of those perpetually happy people. I asked what made her happy and she replied that it was talking with others. It is so true. Every time we get to share the gospel with someone we are happier. That is one of the reasons why missionary work is so great, because we are constantly talking to others about Christ, about the atonement, about the restoration. It's amazing! You should try it. Set a goal to talk to at least one new person about the gospel today. God will bless you with an opportunity. It does not have to be a non member, it does not even need to be someone you don't know, just someone who needs it today.
Thursday, blessed Thursday! I got to be in my area for Thursday and Friday! We got some good contacting in and talking to people. I love people! They are the whole reason for being here. God's purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. He wants us to be happy and we get to help in that desire. Its amazing! Friday we had zone conference. Great to be with and learn with those great soldiers of God.
Saturday I was on another exchange in Bandon. Very fun but mosquito filled. We talked to a man who had recently been baptized who shared how his meeting the missionaries was an answer to a 30 year old prayer. It was very inspriational to hear him share his testimony. Plus he gave me smoked salmon which is super tasty. Yes. I now eat fish.
I love you all.

Transfer 6 Week 1

Hello Everyone!!

This week was frustrating but wonderful. At the beginning of the week I said goodbye to a wonderful companion and on Wednesday I met my new companion. Sis. Opheim is very quiet, very kind and very willing to do missionary work. On the drive home from Eugene we stopped to get some food at a Taco Bell. I had been praying to be able to know how to talk to him. He was taking Sis. Opheim's order and he asked her about why we all were sisters and she was able to explain how we are missionaries. It was such a blessing that we were able to talk to him. We gave him a Book of Mormon and were able to bear our testimonies of it. The sisters who are serving in Coos Bay  were there as well. It was such a good experience for all of us especially the new missionaries. The man also mentioned that he had been trying to get a hold of a Book of Mormon so it was an answer to his prayer as well. (Unfortunately we were not able to get his information.)

My voice was pretty bad on Thursday (my voice decided to go on vacation starting on Wednesday. It is mostly back now but kinda scratchy so I pretty much sound awesome.) but we went out and got Sis. Opheim (o-pime) her first door approach. She is ready to work and wants to be %100 obedient. I am excited to work with her and learn from her. On Friday my voice was all the way gone and we did not get much done in the way of work. However, it gave me the opportunity to contemplate  how to support her even without my voice. I didn't realize how much I relied on speaking but our support to our new missionaries should go much deeper. On Sunday we were able to do some good solid tracting where everyone told us no. But the last door who talked to us was very kind, accepted a prayer and a Book of Mormon and we are going back next week. It was amazing to see the impact that this had on Sis. Opheim. I hadn't realized that the no's were getting to her. I know that God loves her and is so aware of her. I am grateful for the opportunity to train and am grateful for the trust  from Heavenly Father. I love being a missionary and being in the service of God. I love this area, the people here and my companion so much.

I love you all!

Pictures! (From Transfer 5 Week 5)

So Savage and her companion sis. Labrum came for exchanges. So there is one of Savage and I and also Aldous and I with a senior couple at the Gold Beach fair. Also Some of Aldous and I. Happy pictures.

Transfer 5 Week 7

Hellow!

So normally transfers are 6 weeks but because of circumstances this was 7 weeks. It has been an amazing transfer. My companion was amazing and the area was just fantastic! I am staying in my area and I am training a new missionary. I am so excited for her to come to such an amazing ward! She will love it! I am also hanging out with the sisters in Bandon today because I am companion-less. So I don't have a ton of time to write because today has been crazy! But I want to tell you all highlights!!!!

One thing we learned this week that our bikes break. But! More importantly we learned that the Lords hand is in the details! Each time our bikes broke, someone was led to us that we needed to talk to. The first time this happened we came out of a house that we tracted into and my tire was flat. As we were walking the mile or so back into town a man drove by us. Then he turned around and came back and talked to us. He was an inactive man who hasn't been to church since he moved to Oregon which was 20-30 years ago. He gave us his information and invited us over because he recognized us as missionaries. Then, the next day as I was fixing my flat tire (yep, I fixed it! Thanks dad for teaching me skills.) we were able to meet the son of a woman that we have been teaching and he is now on a friendly basis with us whereas before he wasn't so much. Then a day or so after that Sis. Aldous' chain came off. We were on the side of the road when a man who was out jogging came by and said we could come to his house and use his tools. Because he was helping us we were able to have an amazing conversation with him that we would not have had otherwise. His sister is a member and he had a few concerns and misconceptions that we were able to talk over. It is crazy to see how the Lord is so involved in every aspect of the work.

Another highlight and lesson was to not judge. A woman that I at first labeled as uninterested and not all there has turned into one of our most sincere investigators. She is truly amazing. I repented for that one.

The church is true and the field is ready to harvest!

I love you all!

Transfer 5 Week 6

Dear Everyone whom I love:
So the weather here is super mild. Like really, really mild. I sometimes think we are in spring or fall. The summer weather lasts like a week or two and the highest it gets is like 82 and people are panting and fanning themselves and I am in heaven! Being near the coast is pretty amazing and I love it here!
Last Monday after we emailed we went to Bandon to hang out with the Bandon Sisters and to go to the beach for a little bit. We also went to the cheese factory like how we went as a family a few years ago. So its a new one because the other one closed. Its really good. And I bought some cheese curds for a throw back to the cheese curd days and they were super good! These ones were called "vampire slayer' and let me tell you....with the amount of garlic on those bad boys... you definitely were a vampire slayer! They were so good though!!!
President came to do interviews on Wednesday. I just love that man. He is so inspired and I love serving in this mission with him. He is great!
I love being on a mission! I really, really do. Sure, some days are tough so I sit on the curb and cry for a second. But mostly I am so happy. I am so so happy. I get to study the scriptures everyday! I get to pray about 15billion times! I get testify on a daily basis about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I get to work with amazing people. I have a fantastic companion. I live in Oregon where its always green! My favorite thing is being able to feel the spirit so strongly and readily. This past Sacrament meeting the youth had all gotten back from youth conference and they were sharing their testimonies about their experience. The common theme from them was loving how the spirit made them feel. I am right there with them. I love how the spirit makes me feel. I know that it is God wrapping his arms around me. I know that this feeling of peace, warmth and love needs to be shared with everyone! Especially the people in Coquille. I am excited to have been called by God and share this with everyone here in this town! Was it Elder Utchdorf who gave the talk "Lift where you Stand"? It is so true. We can do our part to lift and eventually the entire world will be lifted!
My scripture for the week is Mosiah 29:20.
"But behold, he did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of me, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him."
Humility + Prayer = Arm of mercy. As we humble ourselves before the Lord and go to him in sincere and heartfelt prayer his arm will be extended towards us.
I love you all so much!

Transfer 5 Week 5

Hello all!
So again I made a list (yea lists!) of things I wanted to share with you all and I have more time this week!

So I think I told you last week but if not.... Last week we got Stephanie and her two kids on date and we are so excited about them! They came to church for the first time yesterday and it was so good! They loved how they felt and what they learned! The dad is softening and will eventually come round! They are so great!
So last Monday: We started a mission wide trek. We were to go 800 miles (the distance between Eugene and Salt Lake) and hand out materials as we went. So each companionship was to tract 10 hours and each hour would equal a mile. Each companionship also needed to find 10 new people to teach, hand out 20 book of Mormons, hand out 20 lesson 1 pamphlets and hand out 60 mormon.org cards. So we were super excited to do this with our mission but also a little nervous about the high goals. As a companionship we had been handing out about 6 books a week and finding about 1-2 new people a week. But nonetheless the trek started! it was great! (I will tell you how it turned out at the end.)
On Tuesday we thought we would kick off the trek and do a day of tracting and we found a wonderful woman to teach because we sat down to take a break. She came out of her house from a street we were not tracting that day and we were able to talk to her. Breaks can be instrumental!!! Just saying. And Savage came in the evening for our exchanges but ended up going to Bandon instead but it was nice to see her for an hour.
On Wednesday Savage and her companion Sis. labrum came back in the evening and they actually stayed so that we could do our exchange for real.
Thursday we divided and conqured. Sis. Savage and I went and worked with one another first and Sis. labrum and Aldous were together to start as well. Sis. Savage was my MTC companion and I just love her to pieces! She is amazing and it was so nice to work with her and to see how we have both changed and grown. We found a new man to teach while our companions found a great couple to teach. It was so good to have them here!
On Friday Sis. Aldous and I went down to Gold Beach (about 2 hours away. The drive was breath taking! Awesome coast!) to volunteer at the fair down there. So we stood at the booth for 3 hours handing out cookies, books or mormons and talking in general. Also the bird show was right across from us so we got to see these amazing birds and a CONDOR!!! So cool!!! And the bird man took a book of mormon.
On Saturday we found Brenda who loves geneology and was washing her car. We found Larry who was having a really hard day. And we had an amazing lesson with this woman who we started teaching and hasn't been to church in like 50 years. She is amazing and loves how the church building makes her feel so much peace!
Rita is another woman we are teaching who is amazing! And I need to tell you about Kimberly and Jared but I am running out of time. Remind me next week.

I love you all! Go be missionaries! Its a commandment!

Transfer 5 Week 4

Hello all!!
So unfortunately this is going to beshort but I wrote a list of things to write you about!
On Monday we had a FHE at the bishops house. They invited another family who are members but they brought their cousin who is not. And we taught the restroation. When we left he went to his member cousin and said "What do you think of all that?" and she said " I think its true." and he said "I think it's a bunch of crap." and she said "nope. Its true." I love how simple she kept it. She avoided contention and made her point and he had nothing to argue against except the fact that as we were teaching he felt something. I love the spirit!
On Wednesday a member gave us a ride to a town an hour away and she told us of her re conversion story. She removed her name a 20 years ago and she told us how she chose to 'follow the light.' It reminded me that we are all in the dark and as we look to Christ we can follow that light and serve him who saves!
On thur we had several people tell us they were comfortable with where they are in life and it made me so sad because they wont move forward or toward this incredible message even though they all admitted in varying ways that they know the church is true. Don't ever be complacent with where we are. Continue to improve and follow God!
We have started challenging families to make a family mission plan. It all starts when we take the steps to have the spirit more in our life. I invite you to watch the "i'll go where you want me to go video from the work of our salvation broadcast and make your own individual plan and tell me about it next week!
And we went to make a dif. day and we quilted. My fingers hurt. And I kept forgetting the keys.
The End. I love you All.
Sis. Adair

Transfer 5 Week 3

Hello all!!!

This week I will do my best to give a full report on who we are teaching and how my companion is and the sort.
So this week we traveled quite a bit. On Tuesday we went to Powers which is a tiny town about an hour away from us (yes our area is that large) and we visited Rita. Rita is an amazing woman who started coming to church because her father came to town who is a member, found out where the nearest chapel was (an hour away) and brought her. She is getting baptized on the 17th of August and we are so excited for her! She has the clearest green eyes and the most thankful way of praying. She is quitting smoking at the moment and we learn so much from her faith in Christ and her desire to follow God's will.

We had a new missionary training meeting on Wednesday of which we qualified for because my comp is on her 8th week in the field. She is such a pro though. She really doesn't need a trainer. She came pre-trained and she is the one who teaches me really. But we went and learned lots from our mission President. One of things that was impressed upon us is that we are constantly being watched and whatever we do either increases or decreases trust. I thought about how that translates over into life as well. We have to watch our selves and our actions because as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints we are constantly and consistently being watched. I know and have seen the impact a good example can make. Our president is challenging us to go into every home in our ward and challenge them to make a ward mission plan. To do this we are to challenge them to change simple things in their life that will invite the spirit more often and then to act upon those promptings. That is something I'd like to extend to each of you to do as well.

On Thursday we started teaching a beautiful new family. The mother is best friends with one of our members who recently started coming back to church. We are teaching her and her 10 and 8 yr old  In the first lesson we had she wanted to know if her kids and herself could be baptized. We were, you know... pretty much thrilled out of our minds!!!!!! We walked away from that knowing it was a blessing and a miracle.
On Friday we went to North Bend for our Zone Meeting. Also in the evening we had our first ever correlation meeting with the bishop and all four of us missionaries. P.S I love the bishops daughter! She is my favorite! She gives me jelly fish high fives all the time! And Jelly fish hugs! I love it!

On Saturday we began teaching Alisha. She works at the gas station. We took her on a tour of the church building and she loved it. She was also very taken with the picture of the savior in Gethsemane. She is amazing and we are so excited to be teaching her as well!

More about my companion. She is 19 going on 91. She was seriously born in the wrong time. But I am so happy that she was born at the time she was and that she is my companion. She is amazing. She is so focused on serving and so dedicated and diligent  She is happy that I make her laugh. So... let it be known... I can be funny. That is all. But really. She is a brilliant missionary and I am happy to learn from her.

I love you all! Have a great week!!
P.S My comp and I decided to do away with the term DTR. We have to 'define the relationship' with investigators all the time and instead we are calling it WIGO!! 'What is going on?!?!!?' Its better this way. Believe me, in five years everyone will say WIGO.

Transfer 5 Week 2

So My comp and I were talking and it totally feels like I've been in this area forever because I've gotten to know the area and the ward pretty fast it just feels that way! I love Coquille! It is seriously fantastic. More to know about this area. Everyone has at least 12 cats. There are spider webs everywhere. There is a high school right around the corner from where we live so I lost my belly pudge. Yes that was an important statement for everyone to read. Oh and yes we did get the Elders this week. They are great. Elder Ayre and Elder Smith. Ayre has been out 7 weeks and Smith is brand new new new. We are all heading to Eugene this week for a new missionary training, in separate cars. The work in this ward is going great! The members really are incredible! Feeding two sets of missionaries every night at different houses! We already had a funny moment with the Elders. We were teaching a lesson and they were out tracting and they tracted into our lesson. And their phone has the same ring tone as ours does so its confusing when I hear there phone go off.
On the 4th we had a BBQ at a members house and met some incredible people! It was a lot of fun and we saw some fireworks but the trees got in the way for the most part. We are still settling in with the Elders and who they will teach and who we will teach but we are all excited for the growth which will take place in this area! It's going to be amazing!!!

So more on sis. Aldous. She is from Alpine. That makes 3 comps from Utah. Oh and the Elders are both from UT also which is funny because this ward gets all the UT missionaries. She loves food and is not picky. She is one of those 'always sincerly nice people.' She never, ever, ever focus' on the bad. She always finds nice things to say about everyone and she is so driven. Like. Super driven. She loves the people and the work and she is a wonderful missionary. I seriously don't have to do any training with her because she came out into the world with a name tag on, pretty much. And I don't think she would ever get mad either.

I love you all!

P.S More about who we are working with next week.... when we get it all settled with having the Elders here and everything. We pretty much got it all worked out.

Transfer 5 Week 1

Hola!!!!

This was a super long week!!!!! Oh my goodness! But it was so good!!! Ok I will tell you more about my area. Actually I am going to give pictures first and then write, that way you get pictures. Ok. I will tell you about my area first. The bishop and the Ward mission leader are amazing! They truly are missionary minded! I love all of the members so much! I think partly what made it such a long week was the fact that I met so many investigators and ward members in the first week and my brain was struggling to keep it all in line. I don't think I've ever met that many people who i needed to remember in one week. Crazy awesome!!! I sent you a picture of downtown Coquille (which is pronounced coke-hill) Dad, did you ever serve here or near here? I am super excited to be serving in a coastal town but the best thing about this coastal town is that it is about 20 minuets inland which cuts down on the wind and makes it slightly warmer. it totally cracks me up though because all the locals have been telling us that the heat the last couple of days is unnatural and the highest its been is 85. Yeah. I thought it was funny. It never really gets hotter than 80 here and I love it! So glad to be here for the summer! So fun fact for you all, the ward that i am serving in is gettting a second set of missionaries. It's a testament to the fact that the work truly is hastening. We are excited to work with them and the ward is so excited to have us all. P.S its elders. (For my last area I do beleive Elders took it over. Our investigator that we had on date to be baptized we moved it back and left really detailed notes about everyone we were working with.)

So about my companion. She is pretty much fantastic and exactly the right companion that I needed at this point. She is so optimistic and completely focused to serve the Lord. I am her follow up trainer. She's been out only 6 weeks but she was pretty much born to serve and came out pre-trained. I litteraly have nothing to worry about. She's great. She loves to eat. She has noticed my love of Ranch. P.S I dropped my Grants Pass weight! I am now normal again! So I can eat ranch again!!! Hahaha! She always cooks in an apron. She has curly hair. I sent you pictures of us at the coast because we get to go to BANDON for our district meetings each week. Remember our awesome time in Bandon? I got to see where we went as a family! It was great! I still remembered them and next week we are going with the Bandon Sisters on PDay to the cheese factory! So excited. If you have any specific questions about Sis. Aldous my comp, just ask.

I love you all!

Transfer 4 Week 5

Dear All you all who read this!

So this week I am writing a day late because our special early transfers were yesterday. I don't have a lot of time to write this week but I will try my best to fully update you all! So I am now serving in Coquille (coke-hill) which is on the southern coast about 10 minutes inland. I am so excited to be serving here! It looks like a mini version of Grants Pass. And it smells of Canada... which I love! Monday was crazy...Sis. Levy and I went to Eugene so we could depart ways. She and I both got moved out of our area which is rare but I am so glad to be in Coquille with Sis. Aldous. She is absolutely fantastic and I love her already. I got to talk to Sis. Rock and Sis. Savage (from the MTC) and they are both staying in the OEM! Then my comp came in and we were being driven by the bishops wife from our ward. We left to drop off Sis. Aldous' old comp to be with Sis. Taualii (also from MTC) and so I got to see all my lovely MTC people! I made a new friend! The daughter of our bishop came also and she is such an adorable 8 year old whom I love so much! Plus also my new insta friend... aka... my companion. She seriously is great! I am excited to serve with her. I am her follow up trainer but she doesn't need me. She is a go getter and has such a strong desire to serve the Lord with all her heart!

Neat things about my last week in Junction City:
1- We found two new investigators who are solid! They have a sincer desire to be close to God.

2- One of the new investigators we found is Bob. I learned so much from just listening to that man. He has so much faith in God. He knows that bad things happen but its ok. A direct quote from him is "If both my legs were to be cut off tomorrow I know it would be Gods will. I am not here to have an easy life, God wants to make me wise." He is incredible and I am sad I wont be continuting to teach him!

3 - The Wintch family...the one that we lived behind... I gave them a package to bring to you. So... they should do that.

I love you all!!

Transfer 4 Week 2

Dear Everyone!!!

Life is good as a missionary. I think of things during the week to write but right now I cant remember any of them. We set a date with a girl named Lauren this week. So that's great. I am doing laundry today...that's a highlight. My life isn't boring I just can't think of what to say. My basic day is wake up, exercise, shower, study, study, go talk to people on the street, tract, eat, tract, teach, tract, eat, tract, teach. I love it. I really do. Being able to testify of the gospel and of our Savior, Jesus Christ, I have learned so much. I have learned differant things about people, about myself, about the gospel and about life in general. Going on a mission is the greatest accelerated learning program of my life! It is insane but I love it! Next week I will be sure to save up all my epic stories and tell them all!

I love you!

Transfer 4 Week 1

Phsyc!!!!! I was told wrong! I thought I was going to Lincoln city which would put me in the other mission but I actually went to Junction city which means I stay in the Eugene mission. I am actually very happy to stay with my mission President. It would have been fine to move areas but at the same time I am very happy to be where I am. Ok. So you want to know about my new area. It is a lot smaller than the one I just came from. It is a town of about 5000 people. We cover about 5 other towns that are super tiny. So we have a large area. My companion is from Tahiti and her name is Sis. Levy. She is fantastic. It is amazing to me to realize how little I know my own language. When she asks me questions about words and such I have to say 'I don't know' so often!! Also i am discovering that I truly am not that funny. Seriously. This came as a total shock to me. For real. I bet you are siting there right now shaking your head and thinking....'that can't be true. Sis. Adair is hilarious. She must be kidding.' I kid you not. My funniness has come to an end. I have discovered that I am not internationally funny. I am only funny when people understand what I am quoting or the ism I am spinning off of. I say hilarious things all the time and my comp stares at me with crickets chripping. Now I know how Emily feels. But really. I will come home so funny on an international level that no one will know what hit them. .... I promise I am not that obsessed with being funny as I sound. Ok.
So my comp is rather hilarious. She says it like it is. She is very sweet and will knock your head off if you mess with her family. She eats basically everything. She likes the fatty part of meat. She loves raw fish. She says 'Oh Shoot' all the time. She has an adorable islander accent even though her native language is French. Tell Emily she has been saying the 'Yes i'm hungry' in French incorrectly. Yep. She loves to sing all the time. She is pretty much wonderful. And I'm going to visit her in Tahiti after our missions. She goes home in four months. She served in my old area before I did so we joke around that I am following her around the mission. She is great.

My area. It is comprised of two things: neighborhoods and farms. Not really any in between. Junction City is really flat. (GP was super hilly) The people are great. They like to feed us. My new ward mission leader and his wife came to pick me up in Eugene when I got dropped off and they told me too things: Only the best missionaries are called to serve in Junction City and the 11th commandment which is 'Thou shalt not go hungry".

We are teaching a woman by the name of Dotti. She is very sweet. One day when we were street contacting we saw her in a laundry mat and we went in and had a lesson with her. She is wonderful. I love her so much. We work with a lot of elderly in this area. We go to the assisted living home every Sunday and have some lessons and pray with people. We also work with a lot of youth. So kinda the two opposite ends of the spectrum.

I love you all. This week. I have learned a lot in being here even though its only been a week. I am so grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow. Our days we spend street contacting, tracting and visiting.

Have a wonderful week!

Transfer 3 Week 6

So this Last week has been crazy awesome!!!! I am attatching the letter i wrote to my president so that I don't have to type it all out again.

President Young,

I will try to keep this brief but we wanted to share with you our miracles from the week. We truly have been so blessed as we have tried to apply the counsel we received from Sisters Conference and from Zone teaching meeting. Our faith has been increased and we know that this is truly the Lords work.

This week we were blessed to find ten new people to teach. It has been an amazing experience as we have diligently sought to be led by the spirit to be where God wants us to be.

Tony, Christina and Ashley: We had tracted into the husband (Vic) awhile ago (when Sis. Kennedy was here) and we went back and set up an appointment with him and we ended up teaching him, his wife and their two daughters and we are going back this week!

Elizabeth: We were driving down the street and we saw a man pushing a stroller and decided to go talk to him. We parked, got out and tried to catch up to him so we ran a little bit to close the gap. He crossed the street and we were about to follow when a girl walked around the corner. She happened to be the granddaughter to a less active that we have been working with. We invited her to sit in on the lesson this week because she wants to learn more.

Jaycee: We went over to see her sister whom we've been teaching but her sister wasn't home. So we had a lesson and she said she would like to learn more as well!

Jonah: We drove by him last week and stopped and talked to him. We gave him a book of Mormon and didn't get his number. This week we were driving and saw him. So we stopped and talked to him again and he said he wanted to learn more as well and we are meeting with him this week also.

Kristen and Samantha: We tracted into Kristen a week ago because Sis. Marble had an impression that we needed to knock on a certain door. So we did. We went back to follow up and her sister answered and said she wanted to learn more as well. We are teaching them this week also.

Scott: We drove down the highway and saw him walking and stopped to talk to him. He said it was crazy that we stopped just to talk with him because he has been having a hard time and we will be teaching him this week also!

Rob: Sis. Washburn and I tracted into him when she was here on exchanges. He wasn't interested and then we prayed with him and he ended up taking a book of Mormon. We went back, he has been reading it and has questions so we will also be meeting with him this week.

I know this is a little longer but we wanted to share with you our finding miracles. We truly have been blessed by the Lord. Thank you for following the inspiration you receive to help us to become the missionaries that the Lord knows we can be.

Sis. Adair

This week has been truly incredible and we have been so blessed!

Also I wanted to tell you a story of tracting.... We went up to knock on this door and this alarm went off and a voice started saying "You are trespassing  You are trespassing!" Very loud and very repetitive. So we turned around and walked maybe fifteen feet away and it stopped. so funny! I about peed my pan....skirt.
